« Sonate is a one-piece piece somewhat similar to a bowhunting party. I call, I scratch my face with brambles, I overcome steep grounds, I ride, I call again, I move closer arm-waving through the bushes or along the stream then holding tight my bow I aim at the target. In a naturalistic approach to sound recording one would set up a microphone somewhere in the forest as if it were the beholder’s ears. In an alternative realism _ as in this Sonate _ one could set up severals microphones, one in the hunter’s pocket, one on his head, another one in the tree just beside the beast and why not an extra mic on the beast. Now only do we seem truly involved in a polytimbral tracking. » Prune Bécheau
